Articles: Rest in Peace: SAE! |

Share And Enjoy Demo Group - 1987 - 2001 - R.I.P
After 14 years of scene activities, SAE has seen
it all. The very top, and the lows of inactivity.
Closing SAE was not an easy decision, but I feel
we owe it to our history to not just merely exist,
SAE should be up there competing in the demo scene
with the rest of the top groups. Unfortuanetly
things did not turn out as planned. SAE of recent
has been concentrating on the art scene.
The art scene of today is a disgrace, and I believe
this to be the fault of the internet, and its easy
availabilty.
At one time the scene was run on honour and respect,
these are two qualities it is very rare to find in
any of these new groups that are popping up. You
are more likely to find teenagers who dont really
give a fuck about the scene, and this shows in their
art work. Take for example some hirez "artists",
who create mediocre art works, but rely upon Photoshop
filters such as Eyecandy and others...
If you dont know what a filter is then I shall tell you,
a filter is a peice of software that will reproduce,
artistic effects with the click of a button. This may
not seem to bad, but when you actually realise when you
seen these "art" works, they never ever credit the author
of the filters they have used!
It would be more like blah-001.jpg by Joe Bloggs,
but in reality this "artist" has only clicked a few
mouse buttons in Photoshop, the REAL artist there was
the author of the filter.
This is the state of the majority of the art scene today
and I cant stand it any longer. Who wants to exist in a
scene where all that is required is 10 seconds mouse clicking
in Photoshop?
Anyway enough ranting.
It is time for us to retire...
Goodbye.
