Newschool Ascii reviews: The Usual Suspects (TUS) aka Discyple, Shrimp, Trip and Cain
(and maybe myself) really showed out that the scene is not dead. With a little effort
Tus!2 will I predict, get a 9 grade by me, which was not reached so far in the last 2
years. Dicyple really showed us what he can do, and why he's the best ascii artist
(especially in that info file with his awesome logo creativeness and curving abilities),
I'll sure like to see more great pics by the man. Shrimp had some great pieces in this pack,
though he shall work on his pics a little bit more but overall, some fine logos were found
in here. Drax haven't really showed a serious particapatin in this release. We sure hope
that he and pariah will particapate like they've said in the next pack. Cain had some
great asciis but among them, some not-so-good asciis, though he can do much better work
but he still have showed us his abilities in the IOM ascii and had some fine creations
like the TUS logo. U3 was not so good in this pack... and even decreased the pack a bit
but I predict that if cain decided to let him in TUS he sure have some talent, sure hope
to see that in the next pack, Some advices: maybe you should use a more cleaner and more
smooth of a curving. Though, not much joints which is a shame, cause joints sure gives a
lot to a group release, look how much us-pld gave the pack. Despaerado, the army boy had
some oldie style ascii (I don't count his mix of asciis) but was very nice to see it, even
gave us an old feeling though of the pack which is great, sure hope he'll be able to draw us
something next pack, it'll be cool. Trip's asciis were nice, but he's missing a lot of
creativness skills which I think that will come in time, Man, you need to start drawing
backgrounds! still Trip added a lot to the pack and I sure hope he won't let us down in
the next release of TUS. I, myself didn't had so many good stuff this pack but will, and i
prommise will have a bigger push to TUS!2, count on it... Note that I didn't review a lot of
artists cause they haven't been very original or gave a push to the pack. Overall, TUS!1 was
a really cool release and a lot better then what we all expected, I guess, from the scene to
have. Sure hope we'll keep up the good work. (I, myself will surely try to give a big push to
it and I bet cain and discyple feel the same, and hopefully a lot of the other members...)
Just wait and see, we'll revive the power of ascii. Start learning to ride with us, and get
used to us 'cause it'll be a long, fun and an historical journey... PS. To Mimic and
Secular... GET SET FOR WAR! (woahaha...:)) _d0/TUS

Over all the pack was "OK". For the amount of time TUS had to
prepare a first pack, I would definately have to say this was
below average. Quality control was definately needed - especially
on pieces by Shrimp/Double Zero/Desperado. Quality over quantity.
The Oldschool ascii was fairly well done, but Cain & Discyple
carried the pack with the best quality art. Hopefully pack #2 will
have better QC and more art from dy1 & Cain.

An awesome first pack! I was really glad to see some old school
ascii in here. I think every pack should be like this, a mix of
new school and old school.

A pretty good pack from TUS. The best ascii in the whole pack, was the
dy-ajust.ans by Discyple, who got 6 out of 7 possibles votes. Secondly comes Shrimp
with smp-flg2.ans.
Discyple and Shrimp stood for the best quality of the pack with their awesome ascii's.
Desperado, Mother and Cain also did a good job on the pack. The people who are
dragging the quality down are U3 and Talo with some not so good ascii's.
This is a pretty good pack, definitly worth downloading. Good for a first pack? yepp.
